You've likely noticed that "giving back" to the communities of those
less fortunate is everywhere these days--in the news, politics,in
community organizations and places of worship.. You can hardly escape it
from most angles of our Personal lives but in our Professional lives
there is sometimes a disconnect or at least missed opportunities to
contribute.
This website grows out of a pledge taken by Lawyers who pursue
victim's rights in a variety on legal contexts. We have determined that
there unmet needs in the local communities where we Practice Law, some
of them financial and some not. Working with and supporting our Youth
and exposing them to the possibilities that they can become
professionals and pursue higher educational possibilities to both
advance their own and Society's interests is the focus of our concerns.
We do this by supporting local organizations and charities with some
of the fees we earn and by accepting pledges from the professional
consultants and experts that we work with to do the same. In addition,
though a number of forms of mentoring programs and opportunities already
exist many of the ranks of Professionals are filled with those too busy
or unable to commit to the rigor of developing personal relationships
with Young people who would most benefit from exposure to the
Professions.
Our Law Firms have developed relationships with
professionals in Accounting, Construction, Engineering and Medicine, to
name a few. There are internship , volunteer and even part time work
opportunities available through the Young can be challenged and
supported. We are actively seeking out such opportunities and beginning
to take contact with area wide organizations. For any Professionals in
our region that have considered and yet rejected involvement because
of concerns that existing Work and Family commitments would preclude
personal participation in any such effort, that is exactly why a
supplemental format for interaction is needed.
The good news is that you now have the
power to do this by controlling the nature and scope of your desired
commitments, by letting us know of your ideas and work related mentoring
opportunities so that they can be matched with those who could benefit
down to the individual level. We invite your further contact to
discuss.
